The problem
Checkout is the highest-intent moment in the buyer journey, but most marketplaces treat it as a static form. There's no smart suggestion, no "you might also want..." — just a payment button. That's a missed opportunity for both the buyer and the seller.
How it works
At checkout, Impulse shows 2-3 relevant product suggestions based on what's in the cart. Not random — contextually matched.
Suggestions come from the same seller when possible (same shipment, no extra shipping cost) or from highly-rated sellers.
One-click add — no navigating away from checkout. The suggestion appears inline with pricing and savings.
Impulse learns from conversion data. Suggestions that buyers actually add to cart get promoted; those that don't get rotated out.
Why this matters for your business
Impulse generates incremental revenue at zero additional marketing cost. When a buyer is already committed to purchasing, a well-placed $15 add-on has a much higher conversion rate than the same item in search results. It's the checkout aisle of the surplus world.
